Chimney Sweeping

Regular chimney sweeping is of paramount importance. All flues should be swept and stoves thoroughly cleaned and serviced as per the manufacturers guidelines. However, depending on how often you use your stove and the type of fuel you are burning, sweeping and/or servicing may be required more frequently.

Sweeping of stoves connected to a twin insulated (twin-wall) flue or a flexible stainless steel chimney liner – Prices start at £70 per sweep.

Unlined chimneys (masonry, clay or ceramic lined) that service stoves and open fires - Prices start at £85 per sweep.

Stove Servicing

Stove servicing involves a thorough inspection of the appliance body and its controls. We ensure your appliance is operating both safely and efficiently by carrying out various operational tests. Any issues that can be corrected at the time regarding consumable items are included in the price such as the replacement of heat resistant silicone and fire cement and the re-gluing of rope seals.

During both the chimney sweep and stove servicing process we will check that appliance data plates are correctly sited with the appropriate information recorded and that Carbon Monoxide alarms are present and fully operational. Carbon monoxide alarms should also be present for open fires.

CCTV Surveys

We also provide CCTV inspections of chimneys and flues using state of the art camera recording equipment designed specifically for this purpose. Please enquire for more details.

All inspections are conducted to the standards set by the National Association of Chimney Sweeps, Building Regulations and stove/flue manufacturers guidelines.

Prices start at £140 (this includes a sweep)

N.B There is a possibility that if a stove is utilising an unlined chimney and there is no suitable access to carry out the sweep safely and remove debris then it may not be possible to conduct the sweep. Suitable access is by means of sweeping and cleaning through a register plate hatch above the stove or utilising access through a soot door. We do not dismantle stoves or flues to conduct chimney sweeps. If a stove or flue has to be dismantled to carry out a sweep this means it is regarded as an unserviceable/unsafe installation and will be condemned accordingly. If a chimney cannot be safely swept there will be call out fee of £40.00 to cover any fuel and time.

We are based in Errol and therefore cover all areas in the Carse of Gowrie. We also work in Dundee and nearby areas such as Broughtyferry, Birkhill, Liff, Fowlis, and Invergowrie. Furthermore we cover Perth, Bride of Earn, Scone, Burrleton, Coupar Angus, Blairgowrie as well as Luncarty, Stanley Bankfoot and Dunkeld. We also have customers in Crieff, Auchterarder and Kinross, Fife and Angus.
